Building Highlights

Seven-story building erected in 1929. 

Originally an industrial building which served as the US Rubber Company headquarters. 

Converted into a condominium in 1989-99. 

Features 27 individual units, a landscaped roof deck and triple pane windows. 

 

Project Highlights

Scope of Project:  FSI currently serves as Board Architect and as such has participated in several projects including physical conditions report projects, roof restoration, window replacement, Local Law 11/98 investigation and evaluation and design of mechanical equipment systems. 

FSI's Involvement:  FSI took part in the investigation of several deficiencies throughout the building including the terrace roof and designed a system compatible with the current use. In addition, FSI also investigated the water, air and noise infiltration at the windows and subsequently coordinated a new design of an aluminum window replacement system to match the original steel window system. Lastly, the firm took care of construction documents, coordinated bidding the project to qualified contractors and provided a recommendation for selection of a contractor.
