Scope of Project:

FSI led a transformative exterior restoration for this iconic New York City landmark at the prominent intersection of West 4th Street and Mercer Street, within the heart of the NoHo Historic District. The project revitalized the plaza and vault areaways by replacing deteriorated brick and concrete paving with custom-tinted precast pavers, carefully selected to complement and enhance the district’s historic architectural character. These new surfaces extend seamlessly into the renovated vestibule, where a modern entry curtain wall was introduced to create a cohesive façade that bridges historic elegance with contemporary design.

Within the college’s lobby, FSI designed a refined new security desk, integrated display cases, and state-of-the-art access control systems. These elements were thoughtfully coordinated with the adjacent museum exhibition space and active ground-floor commercial areas, creating a unified, welcoming, and highly functional public environment.

Our Involvement:

Our services included the design of the architectural and mechanical systems, presentations to the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission, client consultation, and project management during construction.
