Building Highlights:

Originally constructed in 1914, this distinguished pre-war residential building was designed in the Italian Renaissance palazzo style as a luxury apartment house on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

Services Include:

• Facade Restoration

• Historic Preservation

Scope of Project:

Façade Restoration, including removal and replacement of 9th floor terracotta balconette and restoration of copper cornice.  100% cutting and pointing of mortar joints at street facing cafades, and restoration of original wood windows.

Our Involvement:

FSI served as Architect of Record, developing the restoration scope for the balconette and preparing detailed designs for new components and the replication of damaged terra-cotta ornamentation. Deteriorated elements were accurately reproduced using new precast components, ensuring visual continuity with the original architectural fabric.
