Building Highlights

Built in 1908 and designed by Arthur M. Duncan.

Neo-classical style stable building.

Landmarked building, part of the Greenwich Village Historic District Extension.

Project Highlights

Scope of Project: Exterior restoration and repair of reinforced concrete walls and waterproofing.

FSI's Involvement: FSI coordinated the design of carbon fiber wrap to repair deteriorated portions of the façade. Areas of spalled concrete were removed and the historic color and aggregate of the concrete was tested and replicated to produce a historically compatible repair mortar.  All of the deteriorated steel reinforcing was cleaned and painted and concrete was patched replicating the pattern of the historic concrete casts.  The bulkhead was repaired from the interior with the use of carbon fiber wrap and faux painted to match the interior exposed concert décor of the residential unit, without altering the exterior of the historic facade.
