Project Highlights

Scope of Project: After conducting a feasibility study, FSI assisted the Board in the conversion of some of the boilers from fuel #2 to gas and relining an existing flue. The firm coordinated the project with ConEdison and presented three options to replace and enlarge an existing oil tank used to energize two steam boilers to ten thousand gallons and prepared construction documents for the selected scheme.

FSI's Involvement: FSI prepared construction documents to decommission the existing fuel oil tank, install the larger tank and secondary containment area together with monitoring and alarm equipment and fire extinguishing system. The firm filed the project with the Department of Buildings and the Department of Environmental Conservation and oversaw its installation.
